時間がある時は何してますか？What do you do in your free time?
暇のとき、たいてい料理をしたり、ベースを弾いたり、ゲームをしたり、散歩したりします。時間があるときは、新しいことに挑戦するのが好きです。
In my free time, I am usually cooking, playing music, playing video games, or going out for a walk. I like to try new hobbies whenever I can.
日本に来て驚いたことは？What has surprised you since you came to Japan?
初めて日本に来た時、コンビニに驚きました。必要な物が全部売られていて、重要なサービスもしてくれます。
The convenience stores surprised me when I first came to Japan. They have everything you need and offer a lot of important services.
あなたのホームタウンで面白いところ、またはあなたのホームタウンで恋しいことは？Something interesting about your hometown or what do you miss about your hometown?
ハリファックスは多くの人に知られていないですが北海道の函館市の姉妹都市です。「ノバスコシア」はラテン語で「新しいスコットランド」という意味です。なので、多くのノバスコシアの文化はスコットランドに似てます。世界中で二番目に深い港があります
Halifax is not a place many people know about, but it is the sister city to Hakodate. The name means New Scotland, so we share a lot of culture with Scotland. It also has the second deepest harbour in the world.
日本でお気に入りの場所は？Favorite memory in Japan?
一番お気に入りの場所は選ぶのが難しいですね。「栃木県、茨城県、熊本県」の3県に住んだことがあり、16の県に旅行したことがあります。でも、選ぶなら熊本ですかね。キレイな自然があって、素晴らしい町もあります。
My favourite place in Japan is hard to choose. I’ve lived in 3 prefectures - Tochigi, Ibaraki, and Kumamoto - and I’ve been to 16 prefectures. But, I think I’ll choose Kumamoto because it’s the first place in Japan I’ve lived in, and it has a great mix of nature and city.
日本でお気に入りの思い出は？Favorite memory in Japan?
初めて日本で桜を見たことは一番の思い出です。日本の桜を見ることが子供の頃からの夢でした。
I think seeing the cherry blossoms in Japan for the first time is my best memory. It was a dream I’ve had since I was a child.
