A Surprising First Trip to Beijing

Hi everyone!
It’s Kenny from Jabble Ochanomizu 英会話スクール.

During my summer vacation, I had the chance to travel to Beijing, China for five days.
It was my first time visiting mainland China, and I have to say—it was an amazing experience full of history, culture, and a few surprises!

While I was there, I visited many famous places including Tiananmen Square, The Temple of Heaven, and the 798 Art District.
Each place had its own unique atmosphere and gave me a deeper appreciation for Chinese history and architecture.
Beijing is a very walkable city, and getting around was surprisingly easy, even as a first-time visitor.

One thing that did catch me off guard was the security at Tiananmen Square. I had to make a reservation in advance to enter the area, which I didn’t expect.
When I showed my reservation confirmation to the security guard using a photo on my smartphone, he suddenly started scrolling through all the other photos in my gallery!
Luckily, there was nothing embarrassing on my phone, but I was definitely surprised by how thorough the check was.

Despite that little surprise, the trip was unforgettable. The food was delicious, the people were friendly, and there were so many things to see and do.
I would definitely recommend Beijing to anyone interested in history, culture, and travel.

夏休みに、5日間の中国・北京旅行に行ってきました。中国本土に行くのは初めてで、歴史や文化にあふれた素晴らしい体験になりました！

滞在中は、天安門広場、天壇公園、798芸術区など、たくさんの有名な観光地を訪れました。それぞれの場所に独自の雰囲気があり、中国の歴史や建築への理解が深まりました。
北京はとても歩きやすい街で、初めての訪問でも移動はとてもスムーズでした。

ひとつ驚いたことは、天安門広場に入るために事前予約が必要だったことです。
スマートフォンの予約確認画面を警備員に見せたところ、なんとスマホの他の写真までスクロールして見られてしまいました！
幸い、恥ずかしい写真はなかったので問題ありませんでしたが、チェックの厳しさには本当に驚きました。

そんなハプニングもありましたが、全体的にとても素敵な旅行でした。食べ物も美味しく、人々も親切で、見どころも満載。
歴史や文化、旅行が好きな方には、北京は本当におすすめです！
