Hello Kitty🎀

Good afternoon everyone! I hope the new year has been treating you well.

While in Ueno for the Christmas Market last year, I couldn’t help but notice the giant inflatable Hello Kitty in the park.
It turns out that the Tokyo National Museum was holding a special exhibit for the character’s 50th anniversary.

As a Sanrio fan, I had no choice but to go of course. Titled, “As I change, so does she.”, the exhibition shows how the character has grown with her fans.
There was a huge collection of vintage Hello Kitty goods, representing every era and trend she has gone through.
It was actually really nostalgic walking between the red pencil cases and checkered lunch boxes. I’d always wanted the pink pearly wallet as a kid!

There was even a section of the exhibit on the many collaborations she has done over the years.
As a teacher in Funabashi, I was very proud to see Funassyi there too!
The exhibit ends on February 24th if you want to catch it😊

昨年のクリスマスマーケットで上野を訪れた際、公園内にある巨大なハローキティのインフレータブルに目を奪われました。
東京国立博物館では、ハローキティの生誕50周年を記念して特別展を開催していました。

サンリオファンとしては、もちろん行かないわけにはいきませんでした。「私が変われば、ハローキティも変わる」と題されたこの展示は、ハローキティがいかにファンと共に成長してきたかを示すものでした。
ヴィンテージのハローキティグッズがずらりと並び、ハローキティが歩んできた時代や流行を表現していました。
赤い筆箱やチェックのランチボックスの間を歩いていると、本当に懐かしい気持ちになりました。子供の頃、ピンクの真珠のような財布がずっと欲しかったんです！

展示の中には、彼女が長年にわたって行ってきた数々のコラボレーションのコーナーもありました。
船橋で教師をしている私にとしては、ふなっしーが展示されていたのを見てとても誇らしく感じました！
その展示は2月24日までなので、見に行きたい方は、お早めに😊
