This is my last week at Jabble. I’ve been working here for 10 years, and I have really loved my time at Jabble. When I think back over the last 10 years, there are so many great memories. I’ve enjoyed all of the classes, but one of the best parts of the job has been getting to know so many different people. It has been awesome to hear your stories, learn about your lives, and see the improvement in your English over the years.
Teaching English has also taught me a lot. Every student is different, and every class has its own personality. I’ve learned something from all of you, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
I’m leaving because I’m going to try and hike the Appalachian Trail. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. Although I’m sad to be leaving Jabble, I’m also really excited about the challenge ahead. The trail is going to be incredibly tough. I’ll be walking for months, carrying everything I need on my back, and I’m sure there will be days when I wonder what I was thinking! But that’s part of the reason I want to do it. I want to challenge myself and experience something completely different. And, of course, I’ll get to see some unbelievably beautiful places along the way.
Leaving Jabble after 10 years is a big change for me. I’m excited about what comes next, but I’m also going to miss the people I’ve met here and the everyday routine of teaching.
I’m truly grateful for my time with all of you. Thank you for all the conversations, the laughs, the interesting stories, and for allowing me to be part of your English-learning journey. I wish you all the best with your English studies in the future.
And if you ever find yourself thinking about doing something you’ve wanted to do for a very long time, I hope you’ll take the chance.
Maybe I’ll see you somewhere along the trail.
Take care, everyone, and thank you for an amazing 10 years.
