Hanami Party in Musashi-Kosugi | Cherry Blossom Event at Jabble Eikaiwa

Hi everyone, this is Stacey from Jabble Musashi-Kosugi!

Last Sunday, we held a Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) party at Jabble Musashi-Kosugi, and it was such a fun and memorable day!

We started the party at the school with a potluck gathering, where everyone brought something to share. There was a great mix of food, and it was a perfect chance to relax and chat in English. I brought karaage and takoyaki, and Marshall made his famous homemade cheese dip, which was a big hit!

After enjoying the food, we played a few English-friendly games together.

The first game was a memory game called “This is Not a Hat.” Each person had a card with a picture, and one extra card was added to the group.

The person with the extra card had to pass it to someone else while saying what was on the card. The tricky part? After the first time, you had to remember the card without looking at it! As the cards kept moving around, it became more and more difficult to keep track. If someone thought they received the wrong card, they could challenge it—making the game even more exciting!

Next, we played “Head’s Up.” One person held a word above their head without seeing it, while the rest of the group gave hints. The person had to guess the word by asking yes-or-no questions, making it a great way to practice natural English conversation.

After that, we had a paper airplane contest. Let’s just say… my airplane didn’t perform very well—it came in last place by far! But it was still a lot of fun, and everyone had a good laugh.

Once we finished eating and playing games, we headed outside together and found some beautiful cherry blossom trees in bloom. It was the perfect way to end the day, enjoying the spring weather and continuing our conversations in English under the sakura.
