Indonesia for a short but unforgettable trip

Hey everyone — Kenny here from Jabble Ochanomizu.
Over Golden Week, I had the chance to visit Jakarta, Indonesia for a short but unforgettable trip.
The main reason I went was to play at a small music festival, which turned out to be one of the most memorable shows I’ve ever done.
It was a really great setup — musicians from all over the world , fantastic food and drinks, and an audience that genuinely cared about the music..
People were relaxed, friendly, and really open to all kinds of music, which made it a perfect place to perform.
Aside from the festival, I made it my mission to hunt down some of Jakarta’s best specialty coffee — and wow, did it deliver.
I tried beans from Sumatra and Java that were roasted locally and brewed with care.
A small café near my hotel served one of the richest-tasting espressos I had ever had.
Traveling like this reminds me why I love teaching language. Even though I don’t speak Bahasa Indonesia,
I was able to connect with people through music, gestures, and shared enthusiasm — the same kind of communication we practice in class at Jabble.
It’s not always about using perfect grammar. It’s about sharing something real.

ゴールデンウィーク中に、インドネシアのジャカルタへ短いけれど忘れられない旅に行ってきました。
今回の旅の目的は、小さな音楽フェスティバルで演奏することでした。結果的に、これまでで最も印象に残るライブのひとつになりました。
世界中から集まったミュージシャンたち、美味しい食べ物と飲み物、そして音楽を心から楽しんでくれる観客たち。
リラックスした雰囲気の中で、いろんな音楽を受け入れてくれる素敵な場所で演奏できて、本当に最高でした。
フェスティバルの他にも、ジャカルタのスペシャルティコーヒーを探し回るというミッションもありました。そして、それが大当たり！
スマトラやジャワ産の豆を地元で焙煎し、丁寧に淹れてくれるお店がいくつかありました。
ホテルの近くにある小さなカフェで飲んだエスプレッソは、人生で一番濃厚で美味しかったかもしれません。
こういう旅をすると、改めて言葉を教えることの楽しさを実感します。僕はインドネシア語が話せませんが、
音楽やジェスチャー、そして共通の「楽しい気持ち」で人とつながることができました。Jabbleのレッスンでも、こうしたリアルなコミュニケーションを大切にしています。
完璧な文法じゃなくても、気持ちが伝わることが大切ですよね。
